Over the last ten years, the Modi government has allocated funds multiple times for the project.
However, due to some setbacks, the construction of the project has been delayed. In this context, President Droupadi Murmu referred to the Polavaram project in her speech to the joint session of Parliament. The announcement became significant as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Union Budget tomorrow. President Murmu reiterated in her speech that the central government is committed to completing the construction of the Polavaram national project.
