Nomad's New USB-C Cable Lets You Charge Your iPhone and Apple Watch Simultaneously

Nomad has introduced a new USB-C cable designed to simplify charging for Apple users, allowing you to charge both your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. Unlike typical dual USB-C cables, Nomad’s innovative Universal Cable for Apple Watch features an inline charging puck for the Apple Watch at one end, making it perfect for travelers looking to minimize cable clutter or anyone who wants to tidy up their desk setup.

The Universal Cable for Apple Watch is available now for $100 on Nomad's website, offered in a 1.5-meter length. While the price is steep — especially considering that Apple’s own Apple Watch charger costs only $29 — Nomad emphasizes that the value lies in the cable’s functionality rather than its cost.

Wrapped in a durable double-braided Kevlar outer weave and featuring reinforced electroplated metal connectors, the cable is built to withstand wear and tear. However, it’s the ability to charge multiple devices that sets this cable apart. The cable is designed to charge the Apple Watch alongside any other device that supports USB-C charging.

To make use of this cable’s full potential, you’ll need to plug it into an adapter that provides at least 20W of power. The cable can handle up to 100W of power delivery if used with a compatible adapter. However, the charging puck for the Apple Watch takes priority, meaning that while the Apple Watch can be fast-charged (with support for Series 7-10, Ultra, and Ultra 2 models), the USB-C connector will deliver up to 92W to the iPhone or other devices.

While the cable supports charging, data transfer speeds are capped at USB 2.0 levels, likely to allow for a longer cable length.

Beyond wall outlet adapters, the Universal Cable for Apple Watch can also charge devices from your iPhone. Simply plug one end into the iPhone, and you can charge both your Apple Watch and AirPods simultaneously. Alternatively, if you plug the USB-C end into a higher-power device like a MacBook or iPad, the iPhone will begin drawing power, as shown in a demonstration by Nomad’s CEO, Noah Dentzel.

This versatile cable offers a clean and efficient solution for charging multiple devices on the go.
